Is Overwork Culture a New Normal? Rethinking from Psychological Detachment Perspective.

Previous studies have shown and proven that employees need temporary detachment from their work to recharge re-energize for the next day with similar enthusiasm. But pressures overwork culture become a buzzword every corporate follows, are bound face it. This study investigates impact of (OWC) on employee longevity (EL). Further, it examines mediating role psychological (EPD) linkage between OWC EL. It aims develop relationship longevity, which can be referred further show how important former's is organization's welfare. The survey data was collected 116 IT professionals India, proposed analyzed through SMART – PLS structural equation modeling tool. found significant Overwork Culture EPD, but at same time, EL much less. gives scope rethink causes behind accepting this new norm.
